I did not send you that virus! - The hall of shame

I dislike spam.   I get 300 or 500 per day.  With my mail server blocking an additional 200 attempts per day.

But what really ticks me is when I get an email from some anti-virus software telling me I sent them a virus.   I didn't.  For a number of reasons. 

• I'm very cautious and paranoid. 
• My anti virus signatures are updated daily. 
• My firewall blocks all software attempts to access the Internet until I approve the access.

But the real real reason these emails tick me off is that all viruses these days spoof the sending email address.  So telling me I sent someone a virus is quite useless.  It is only wasting my time and clogging the internet.

Emailing the postmaster at these websites, with a single exception, has been quite fruitless.

Thus I've decided to setup this hall of shame.  Should your domain be on this list and you've reformed please send me an email from the webmaster or postmaster account and I'll be happy to take you off my list.  

And a special mention in the hall of shame to those scripts and anti virus products which also send back attached files.  What morons!!!

Now Road Runner are even more stupid than most.  I'm supposedly the recipient of a virus.  And not the alleged sender of the virus.  Well, guess what folks, the virus replicates by locating all the email addresses it can find on the hard drive and sending itself to them.   So this is even more pointless than bouncing back to the alleged sender.   

And see the IP address on the email?  Why doesn't Road Runner shutdown that IP address accesses to the Internet.  And when the user phones in for help tell the user they must clean off the virus before they are allowed to reconnect.

Finally I've had three or five of these from Road Runner and have sent emails to postmaster and abuse at Road Runner telling them they are abusing me.   No answer, of course.)
